1. Introduction
Welcome to OwnMynd AI ("OwnMynd," "we," "us," or "our"), developed by Plan B Engineers, a division of AutoNexTech Pty Ltd, an Australian company. We are committed to protecting your privacy and personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988, the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and applicable international privacy laws.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and safeguard your information when you use the OwnMynd AI mobile application and related services. By using OwnMynd, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
OwnMynd is designed with a local-first architecture — the vast majority of your data is stored and processed directly on your device and never leaves it.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
When you create an account using Sign in with Apple, we receive your email address (you may use Apple's "Hide My Email" relay), display name (first use only), and Apple User ID (a unique identifier).
2.2 Content You Save (Stored Locally)
All content you save is stored locally on your device. Your memories, notes, documents, and media files are kept in your device's secure storage and are not uploaded to or stored on our servers. This includes screenshots, notes, documents, PDFs, web links, and social media content.
2.3 Data Processed in the Cloud
When you use AI-enhanced features, limited data is temporarily sent to cloud services:
- Text snippets extracted from your saved content (not raw images)
- Search queries for AI-enhanced search
- OCR-extracted text from screenshots (images themselves are never sent)
- Document text for AI summarisation (up to 24,000 characters)
- Social media URLs shared via the Share Extension
This data is processed in real-time and is not permanently stored on our servers.
2.4 Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect GPS or location data, contacts, health data, financial information, browsing history, advertising identifiers, or any third-party analytics data.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to provide the Service, enable AI-enhanced features, manage subscriptions, and communicate essential service information. We do not use your information for advertising, third-party data sharing, profiling, or AI model training.

Raw images, screenshots, photos, and files are never sent to the cloud. Our contractual agreement with our enterprise AI provider prohibits the use of your data to train or improve any AI models.
4.3 How AI Processing Is Routed
OwnMynd automatically routes each query to the most appropriate processing path — on-device wherever possible, escalating to cloud AI only when the question requires deeper understanding. Raw images, photos, and files are never sent to the cloud under any circumstances, regardless of routing. Text-only content is sent to the cloud in anonymised form, as described in section 4.2.

We do not share with advertising networks, data brokers, or marketing companies.
6. Data Security
We implement robust security measures: local-first architecture, TLS 1.2+ encryption in transit, iOS hardware-backed encryption at rest, iOS Keychain for credentials, Face ID/Touch ID protection for sensitive content, and no third-party analytics SDKs.

8. Your Rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of your personal information. Under GDPR (EEA/UK users), you additionally have rights to data portability, restriction of processing, and withdrawal of consent for cloud AI processing at any time by contacting our privacy team at [email protected].
To delete your account: Settings > Account > Delete Account. Note: this does not cancel your Apple subscription — do that separately via iOS Settings.
9. Children's Privacy
OwnMynd is not intended for children under 13. If under 16, parental consent is required. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices. Material changes will be communicated within the app and by updating the "Last Updated" date.
